My journey with the needle began in the 1950s and 60s, watching my mother’s hands move with a grace that only comes from true talent. She was gifted at the craft, sewing every school dress my sister and I wore. Under her patient guidance, I learned that a seam is more than just a connection of fabric—it is an act of care.
By the 1970s, I had found my own rhythm. I took on the ultimate challenge of sewing my own wedding dress, and shortly after saying “I do,” I invested in my very first sewing machine. As my family grew, that machine rarely took a rest. I spent years crafting clothes for my two daughters, and later, finding that same joy all over again while sewing for my granddaughters.
Eventually, my love for sewing evolved into a professional passion for craft products, where I specialized in intricate appliqué work on aprons and towels. What began as making aprons for my own kitchen soon turned into a tradition of gifting them to friends and family. However, I eventually realized these garments could serve a purpose far greater than my own home.
I have always held a deep heart for Missions, having been fortunate enough to serve on trips to El Salvador and Haiti. Today, my sewing room has become a place of purpose; I create handcrafted aprons and donate the proceeds to support mission work, turning every stitch into a contribution toward a better world.
Why the Apron?
